General Appointments ... 821404
Please attend or telephone the surgery on 01243 821404 any time during the surgery hours to make an appointment to see the doctor, nurse or other member of our clinical team.
Our ethos is to do ‘today’s work today’ to overcome the need for booking ahead. Therefore, we have adopted an Advanced Access system, which enables you to make an appointment with the Doctor the same day. However, there are a few pre-bookable appointments available.
An appointment is for one person only.
All appointments for the nurse and blood tests are pre-bookable.
It may not always be necessary to see a GP. When making an appointment, ensure you are seeing the correct professional. The reception team may ask details which are necessary to assist in dealing efficiently with your problems. Rest assured all information is treated in the strictest confidence.
Urgent Appointments
If your need is urgent, can you please make sure that you explain that to the receptionist so that they can fit you in as soon as possible.
If you have language difficulty, bringing someone with you who can interpret will be helpful.
Telephone Consultations
If you wish to speak to the doctor and you feel an appointment is not necessary, you can telephone the surgery to make a Telephone Consultation appointment. You will be given an allotted slot to call back.
Be On Time
Please arrive promptly and remember to cancel your appointment if you can no longer keep it; even if you made the appointment on the same day, someone else may need to see the doctor urgently.
Cancelling Appointments
If you are not able to make your appointment, please cancel this as soon as possible to enable others to benefit from it.
Home Visits
Home visits can be requested for those patients too ill to attend the surgery. Please use this service thoughtfully. And ring as early as possible in the morning to request a visit. The receptionist may ask for further information to enable the doctor to determine the necessity and priority of the visit. If possible, give the receptionist some idea of why you cannot come to the surgery.
